Mediclinic hospitals recognised by international standards body

Mediclinic Newcastle, Mediclinic Sandton, Mediclinic Medforum and Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre were successfully recertified with ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System International Certification by National Quality Assurance (NQA) Limited of London*.

Mediclinic applies international best practices in environmental management as part of its sustainable development strategy. All 52 Mediclinic Southern Africa hospitals are therefore trained in ISO 14001, of which 39 are certified by the external assurance assessor. The remaining 13 hospitals follow the same processes and are also subject to annual legal compliance internal audits.

Two of the hospitals under review, Mediclinic Medforum and Mediclinic Sandton, attained zero findings or observations, meaning that their environmental management procedures met all the prescribed international quality assurance standards.

*ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards in quality assurance. NQA is accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) in auditing the management systems of companies according to industry standards and codes.
